Welcome to the blogsite for the Pleasant Residents Association

The Pleasant Residents' Association was formed a number of years ago to act as a focal point for all Residents in the Mount Pleasant, Mount Pleasant Avenue, Little Lane,Robinson Lane estate and Watts Lane area.

Currently the association has suspended it's activities due to lack of volunteers to stand for committee.

Pleasant Residents Association

This blog post sadly marks the end of the Pleasant Residents' Association.
The committee had a meeting on the 13th September and concluded that as there were no volunteers to continue with the running of the association it was agreed to transfer the existing funds of the association to local groups.
Initially we agreed to give £500 to the newly formed Watts Lane Residents' Association and £50 to Louth Men's Shed who made a couple of wooden name plates for the terraces on Mount Pleasant.
The remaining funds to be agreed at a later meeting.

At the later meeting on the 10th October it was agreed to forward the remaining funds (approx. £450)
to the Watts Lane Resident Association to be used to maintain and improve the facilities on Watts Lane.

Please view the archive on this blog to get some idea of the range and extent of activities that we have organised and enjoyed over the years.

If you're inspired to start up the residents' group on Mount Pleasant the constitution and bank account are still live, so please get in touch for more details.

Thanks

Temporary suspension of activities

At the AGM we did not have enough candidates to stand for committee and replace a number of members who were retiring this year.
It was agreed to suspend our meetings and activities until a functioning committee can be formed.
It was also agreed that if the situation remains unchanged in September 2017 then a special meeting would be called and a final decision about the future of the association would be made.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in helping to run the association then please get in touch with James Pocklington on 07939205346

Thanks

Hats off to John!

At the AGM last Wednesday we expressed our thanks to Councillor John Hough for all his years of service to our community. After 14 years as County Councillor John has decided not to stand as a candidate in the forthcoming local election. Cllr Hough has a been a great help to the residents' association and has facilitated action at district and county council level to address local residents' views and concerns. We wish John all the best for the future.
In case you're wondering what the gift was, we presented John with a framed photo of Louth looking east from the top of St James' Spire ....which included distant views of the Mount Pleasant district :)
